Find Your Grind
FIND THE RIGHT GRIND FOR YOUR BREW
The same coffee can taste different depending on how it's brewed. Choosing the right grind helps you get the flavor, strength, and consistency you're looking for.
Iron Shift Coffee offers multiple grind options so you can choose what works best for your setup—from the station coffee maker to the French press at home.
Your coffee. Your equipment. Your shift.

DRIP GROUND
Best for: Standard automatic drip coffee makers
This is the classic everyday grind for traditional coffee makers—the kind you'll find in homes, break rooms, stations, offices, and crew kitchens.
If you use a standard automatic coffee maker with a paper or reusable basket filter, Drip Ground is the easiest place to start.
FINE GROUND
Best for: Espresso-style brewing and reusable single-serve pods for those who prefer a stronger extraction.
Fine Ground has smaller particles, allowing water to extract flavor more quickly. It can produce a stronger, fuller cup depending on your brewing method.
For reusable single-serve pods, Fine Ground can work well, but results vary by brewer and filter design. Because the grind is finer, some reusable pods may allow more sediment into the cup.
Prefer a cleaner cup from a reusable pod? Drip Ground may be the better starting point.
COARSE GROUND
Best for: French press, cold brew, and longer-steep brewing methods
Coarse Ground uses larger coffee particles that extract more slowly, making it a good match for brewing methods where the coffee stays in contact with the water longer.
It works especially well for French press and cold brew, helping produce a smooth cup while reducing the amount of fine sediment that can pass through the filter.
If your brewing method calls for a longer steep, Coarse Ground is the place to start.
WHOLE BEAN
Best for: Customers who grind their coffee fresh at home or at work
Whole Bean gives you the most control over your brew. Grind only what you need and adjust the grind size to match your coffee maker or preferred brewing method.
Grinding immediately before brewing can also help preserve the coffee's aroma and flavor until you're ready to make your cup.
Want maximum flexibility? Whole Bean lets you choose the grind for the way you brew.
